Weevil Neighbourhood is a habitat for the unorthodox in sound, music and beyond. It was initiated as record label in 2010. In recent weeks, I started setting up a hub on Nina protocol, a platform and toolkit for independent music, based on Solana and Arweave blockchains, where releases in digital format can be found for listening and collecting.
The existing label catalogue will be added to the hub in the course of the next months. Reissues can both contain additional pieces – either tracks from the respective artists or remixes from other artists – and bonus material. New releases are already in the pipeline.
SPR’s Tesselation Districts has been published with additional track Edges Unfold including a video from visual artist Florian Schmuck and original artwork sketches for the 2016 record release by Lee Noble.
Aloof by Anthone comes with a new remix for Rebound by label artist Katsunori Sawa (as KWARP).
Anthone’s Double Dub / Clear View release was extended by the Beatless Decelerando Mix, earlier published as part of the Risset Remixes.
In addition to the main hub, there’s another hub called Infest & Harvest. All artist and associated users are allowed to repost content to this hub, including their own releases, self released on Nina or via other labels, or releases of other artist they want to feature or bring to the attention of the label network.
